"No no. I’m fine." Jailen muttered and sat up, drinking his drink as he panted, looking at her. Jailen kissed her cheek and pulled her closer. "Well, what do you wanna do? You know, celebrating our engagement." Jailen smiled.
Her arms wrapped around his sides as she ran her hands up and down her back, She was pleased to hear that he also wanted to celebrate. “Oh, whatever you want to do. I mean we could just hang out here and you know, do whatever. Or maybe we could go out to eat or even get a hotel room near by.” she smiled, kissing him on the cheek. “I’m not sure how busy your schedule is the rest of the day or tomorrow so whatever is easiest for you, love.” her hand slid down to his side, playfully hooking her thumb in his waistband of his pants. “I am just happy to be with you, my famous and talented boyfr- fiance.” she grinned, pecking at his neck a few times before sitting up more.
He chuckled a little. Good thing she didn’t see the slight blush that was on his face as she told him he was good at a lot of things. He just had a bad mind but he shook the though and continued rubbing her back, pressing his hands and fingers into her more and more, hoping to relax her even farther. “Only the best for my sexy Viking” he whispered
"I like it when you call me that…" she mumbled softly, feeling the pressure from his hands increase as he massaged her skin. "Gods that feels amazing…" she purred, lightly giggling as she heard how relaxed she sounded to herself. She sighed, turning her head to the side some to smile back at him. "I think this is starting to turn more into a winning situation for me. Taking my top off can’t nearly be worth as much to you as this heavenly massage is to me, Legion." she smirked, closing her eyes once more.
While she got a friendly hello from some of the other staff members who knew her face, playful puppies pleading for attention and older dogs woofing for their food at the fronts of their cages almost kept her voice from carrying to Astrid’s intended recipients. Toothless caught it before his owner did, and then they both ended up turning their heads.
Hiccup’s eyes lit up brightly. “Hey!” He called back, “Hang on!” He quickly finished the rounds around the cages, and when he was positive their rescue friends didn’t need anything more, he jogged out to the front to meet Astrid there. The blond’s weekend visits were also another thing that Hiccup always looked forward to. He didn’t specifically help Astrid pick out her cockatoo, but he’d been around when she took Stormfly home, and they talked often whenever he was on shift. At first, for the most part, it was Toothless Astrid really interacted with—once Hiccup knew her face and her voice more, though, the shyness that still stuck to him like glue at school sort of evaporated.
When he saw Astrid at the front desk, the brunet flashed her a wide smile. “Sorry,” he apologized, “I had to feed all the children in back. What’s up?”
Toothless made a trilling meowing sound, and immediately wiggled his hind quarters, attempting a maneuver that would let him leap from Hiccup to Astrid. He caught the Bombay before he could finish it, partly since Toothless got a bit caught on Hiccup’s shirt in his excitement and mistimed it.
"Excuse you!" Hiccup laughed, swaddling Toothless up in his arms. "Did you ask first, you naughty boy? You can’t just go climbing onto every cool person that walks in this building. I’d never see you again."
Toothless just blinked slowly at him, flicking his tail, but more or less tolerating being held like a baby while Hiccup looked to Astrid. “Guess he’s happy to see you, too,” he chuckled.
Astrid smiled as Hiccup’s familiar voice finally replied, calling back to her. “Take your time, it’s fine!” she smiled softly, leaning her arm against the counter. Patiently she waited, knowing that the many barking voices of the shelter animals all desperately wished for some form of love or attention that Hiccup could bring them. They all deserved it after all, they just wanted families.
Her hand slowly shot up to tuck back some of her blond strands of bangs behind her ear. “Hey, not much. Oh, it’s fine. Just thought I would stop by, maybe hang out for a little bit.” she grinned, smiling at Hiccup before her eyes drifted over to the black companion sitting on his shoulder.
"Oh, hey bud." she watched as Hiccup’s eager hands pulled back at Toothless, cradling him back into his arms. "Hey, you can’t blame him. Cool people are hard to resist after all and I’m pretty cool after all." she smirked, letting out a small laugh as she teased. Her hand lifted, rubbing over the top of the Bombay’s head, gently caressing until she reached the back of his neck. "I’m glad I’ve got you two boys happy to see me." she smiled in a friendly matter.

Hiccup flinched when he heard her raise her voice to his claim, he was about a half second away from ducking under the table for safety. However with Astrid there was no safe place to hide when she was angry. He had never seen her this angry before, this was a new level for her and it almost scared him to see her get like this. One for his own health and two for her own health, what was going on with her. After a moment of a quiet and nothing being thrown his way he slowly opened up his eyes and saw his wife now frowning sadly as she looked at him and then he saw surprisingly tears start to form in her eyes as she put her had down on the table before she started to silently sob, he listened to her apologize to him and his heart went out to her. He hesitantly moved closer to her and gently put his arm around her and gently rub her back soothingly as he tried to console her, “Hey, hey, its ok, I’m just worried about you. Are you ok? Is there something thats bothering you?” he asked worriedly in a gentle tone as he tried to console her and get her to stop crying.
She nestled closer to him, sliding the side of her leg over his lap she her arms lifted to wrap around him. Her wet cheek rubbed against his tunic as she bit at her bottom lip. She felt so strange and off balance, unsure of her true emotions. “I-I’m fine…” she mumbled, squeezing her arms around him. Slowly she crawled off his lip and sat up straight. “I just- have been feeling strange lately.. Okay?” her eyes quickly shot up to glance at him before returning down at the table. Her hand moved over her stomach and slowly rubbed as she felt herself feel a tad sick, but not enough to say anything. “I’m fine though, don’t worry about me.” like that, it seemed the sad emotions had left her. She didn’t seem exactly ‘happy,’ but she didn’t seem as upset. “It’s nothing…” she sighed, brushing her bangs back as she felt herself begin to feel somewhat worried and confused. Her husband had done nothing to upset her, he just happened to be the one caught up with her crazy morning emotions. She cleared her throat before speaking once more. “I slept well, thank you honey. I’ve just had a bit of a rough morning is all, okay?” she rubbed her hand against his thigh before very faintly smiling up at him.
Astrid momentarily paused from feeling his tight embrace. She felt her lips begin to form a cheerful smile and she in return wrapped her arms around him. Her head tucked over his shoulder and her eyes began to peacefully close.
"Great" he said with a smile on his face, "We just have to get back to the village first." he said remembering how heavy the wood he was carrying was. Hiccup blushed he didn’t know what to say so he just stayed quiet as to not make things more awkward then he already had, though he could tell that what he said about his dad really made her happy so he thought it wasn’t too too bad.
"Well I think its because he worries that you and I will spend more time together alone and end up forgetting about him." he explained as he tried to think about what would make him jealous of Astrid, "He’s really more sensitive then most people would think." he said sounding rather surprised that he discovered this about his dragon. He listened to her idea of how to get on his dragon’s good side, then he was surprised when astrid started to scratch his chin. He was a mix of surprised and in a dreamy haze which didn’t last long before he tripped over his own feet and fell and dropped all the wood he was carrying, "Doh!" he exclaimed as he hit the ground.
She grinned, happy to know that Hiccup seemed please with her agreement to the ride. He grew fairly quite for a moment as the two walked. When he spoke again it almost startled her as her mind had began to drift. “Forgetting about him?” she let out a single laugh. “I can’t spend a single moment with you when he is around without getting his nose rubbed against my side or his tail brushing up against us. I don’t think he could be easily forgotten about. He’s a great dragon, Hiccup. He will be remembered even way after he’s gone. I just don’t want the big baby to get too jealous of me hanging out with all this viking.” she smirked, teasing slightly.
After pulling her hand back from his chin, she couldn’t help but grin at the change in expression that she caused him. Suddenly she watched as his feet became tangled and the wood spread out across the forest floor. “Hiccup!” she sighed, setting her bundle of wood and axe down before kneeling next to Hiccup’s side. “Hey, you alright? You sort of biffed it there.” her hand began brushing off some dirt from his side before she then offered him it to be helped up. “Don’t worry about the wood, I can help you pick it up.”
Hiccup knew she was right but it was an old habit of his, and partly of hers since she would always say what it was for along with what a punch in the arm was for, “I-I know just, old habits die hard.” he…
"Oh yes, the ground trembles when you speak. I can’t imagine how Berk has stayed afloat for so long with all of the groundbreaking things you speak of." she teased, gently holding her own hand against her mouth as she tried to hold back louder laughs and giggles. She watched as his expression drastically changed to a shocked look of almost playful disgust. All she did was giggle. "Oh, since when did endearingly quirky become the new dorky?” she muttered softly, continuing to mock him in a light hearted matter. Her arms stayed still as she sighed happily. “Of course your father is an amazing chief, he is sort of responsible for your creation… Berk couldn’t have asked for a better future successor.” she grinned, her tone become much more serious after all the teasing they had done, back and forth. She once again scooted back a little closer to him, hiding the motion by placing her hand on his knee as she smiled softly at her boyfriend.”I mean, I couldn’t have asked for someone better to love than you, Hiccup. I love you… y-you dork.” she quickly moved her hand, punching him in the arm, somewhat bothering the what was a touching moment. She punched hard enough to leave a momentary sting but not hard enough to leave a bruise. In her eyes it was just another way for her to express her feelings. She lightly giggled, returning her hand to his knee, gently rubbing.
